Drawing scanning

Scan the drawing before you start typing

Upload a piping-isometric PDF. Piping.Tools finds the title block, welds, material table, and lengths, then shows them beside the drawing for you to check.

Available in personal and company projects.

  • Upload PDFs and split multi-page files automatically
  • Revision-aware register with prior files preserved for review
  • Scanned weld, material, and pipe-length lists ready to check
  • Use the checked result in the weld log, parts list, and final files

One register, every revision

Match each supported PDF to its drawing number and keep earlier revisions available. Reviewers can open the right version and check the BOM and weld records against it.

Use the checked list across the job

Once checked, the weld and material lists can be used to build the weld log, parts list, cut list, drawing issue, and final handover files without typing the same details again.

What you get

See what the scanner found

The scan reads the title block and material table and looks for weld marks and pipe lengths. Every result remains editable.

Check against the PDF

Keep the source drawing on screen while you correct the list. Nothing is accepted or issued without your review.

Keep every revision

Earlier drawing revisions stay available, so the team can see which version a weld or material list came from.

Frequently asked questions

What drawing formats can I upload?

Piping.Tools accepts PDF piping isometrics, including multi-page sets. Scanning works best when the title block, material table, and weld marks are clear. Other PDFs can still be stored in the drawing list.

How are revisions handled?

Supported uploads can be matched to a drawing number and retained in its revision history without overwriting the prior file. Review the relevant versions and accepted records directly when a change comparison is required.

Do I need to enter the BOM by hand?

No. The scanner reads the material table and weld marks from supported PDFs. You review and edit the list before using it in the bill of materials, weld log, or cut list.
