Keep material certificates with the work

Keep material certificates within reach

Upload a material test report, check the heat number and spec, and link it to the welds and BOM items that use it.

Available in personal and company projects.

  • Add several PDFs and read their heat numbers
  • Compare the material details with the project list
  • Show mismatches before the weld is made
  • Open the certificate from its weld or parts-list item

Bring the binder into one place

Add a set of MTR PDFs, check the heat number, spec, dimensions, and supplier, then compare each one with the project material list.

Catch a mismatch early

If a weld uses an unverified or mismatched heat, the issue is visible before it gets buried in the turnover pack review.

What you get

Spec matching

Automatic comparison against the project material list catches mismatches at upload time.

Mismatch alerts

A red badge on the cert and the weld means an inspector or QC engineer sees it immediately.

Linked records

Click a weld; see the MTR. Click an MTR; see every weld that consumed it.

Frequently asked questions

What MTR formats are supported?

Standard supplier PDFs are supported. Heat number, spec, dimensions, and supplier name are extracted automatically; you can review and correct any field before the cert is verified.

How does spec matching work?

Piping.Tools compares the cert’s spec, grade, and dimensions to the project material list. Anything that does not match is flagged for review before the cert is marked Verified.

Where do MTRs show up in the rest of the project?

MTRs are referenced from welds, BOM items, and turnover packs. Inspectors can navigate from a single weld to its MTR (or vice versa) in one click.

PIPING.TOOLS

Scan piping drawings into weld logs and parts lists, check every result, and download the finished record as Excel or PDF.
